Project CATS
March 8th, 2006
I love the end of the quarter. Papers are due, finals are fast approaching, and in my case, projects must be completed. This quarter I have two due, pretty much on the same day. One of them I have yet to start, but I’m not too worried about it, as It takes a backseat to my much harder, much cooler wireless networks project.
Our group, Kim, Andrew, Michael, and I are creating an application that will allow anyone with a computer, or more specifically a wireless enabled laptop to share files with any other user using our application…..without the need for a access point.
I really feel this will be a useful tool for many people. Many times, while working on out project, we’ve realized how useful it would be to have a tool like this in a group project. Instead of trying to setup file sharing with everyone in the room, which can be clunky and time consuming, you simply open the program, select the files you want to share, and your good to go.
I’m probably boring some of you, but It’s really cool to be working on something that I actually feel is useful, instead of some lame calendar program, or router simulation, which wouldn’t have been used 20 years ago, let alone today. I can totally see myself using this program, and It’s exciting to be a part of creating something useful.
I have so much to work to get done for this project by Friday, and then I need to get started on my other project, which will be due a few days after. Its a busy week, but I like to think I thrive on pressure. Time to get back to work.
