First Day of Class: Fall 2006

September 28th, 2006

Fall Quarter began today.

Riding to school I could already tell it was fall. The MU bus terminal was packed with riders disembarking the buses, forcing me to slow my bike nearly to a stop as the pedestrians monopolized the sidewalk and roadway. I narrowly avoided several freshman, on their shiny new bicycles, who didn’t know where they were going, or how to navigate a bike circle.

I began my day at work. I was buisness as usual, except for the additional stress and malfunctioning equipment that always follows the first day of classes.

My first class went well, aside from the waste of time that was all 50 students having to introduce themselves individually to the class. We wont be required to attend class, but I still will because the instructor isn’t monotonous and I feel I could learn something valuable from this supply chain management class.

Next it was lunch, then back to work, followed by my second management class. The thing about the management classes is, there is always a decent one, but only one decent one. This year is no different. This class takes roll, is pretty much accounting 2, and the instructor took pictures at the end of class in order to remember our faces. yeah, what?

So back to work. Seems like deja vu. Finally, its time for my last class of the day. Microcomputer based design. This is the class that has a 3 hour lab twice a week from 7 - 10pm, good stuff. Not so bad though.  The instructor doesn’t seem too bad, and the lab with be alot of work, but we can do most of the work at home and just turn it in during lab time, and it seems like fun.

I biked home to find our internet finally connected. Thank you Comcast! I downloaded the Sam’s Town, the new Killers Album, which is very good, watched the Office, and now Im going to prepare for my second day of class.
