Not moving to London

June 26th, 2007

I finally heard back from Last.fm about the job in London on Monday.

Unfortunately, it would be to costly and time consuming to obtain a work permit for me to work in the UK so I will not be moving to London.

While I believed (and still do) that Last.fm would have been a good fit for me, and would have been an awesome place to work, I think I would rather be home for a year or so spending time with my family before making any more huge moves. London is a great city, but I miss California.

I really think that whole process was a positive one. I got the opportunity to meet some of the Last.fm guys, got a real interview under my belt, and learned a little about myself in the process. With all the startups in California, I am confident I can find another organization that I will be as excited to work for as I was for Last.fm.

once you work for awhile, you’ll be able to afford a work visa to work abroad if you still want to.

ps: what happened to your travel blog?
