Thanks Kris! We did use some extract in addition to our grains (forgot about that when writing the post) I might call on The Snooks advice when we get deeper into the hobby. So far so good though!

Well done! My husband Rodd has been homebrewing for many years now. I told him that you used grains for your first batch, and he was hella impressed. (His first couple batches were from canned extract.) I'm sharing this post on Google Reader so he can see it. Hit me up on Twitter if you want his email address; I'm sure he'd be happy to give you advice.

Are you going to put it in bottles? He used bottles for the first couple of years but got tired of the cleaning/sterilising. Now he uses these special mini-kegs and hooks them up to Soda Stream bottles for added carbonation (and pushing the stuff out of the keg). He has a dorm fridge as a kegerator behind the couch. :)

One thing he made for himself not long after starting was a "wort chiller." It's basically a length of copper tubing that he bent into a big spiral (like a spring), with rubber tubing on the top and bottom ends. He plunks the whole thing down into the big pot of hot wort and hooks one end up to the cold water tap. Then he trickles cold water through it and it empties out the other end (outside the pot). He says once you get up to 10+ liters of liquid to chill, it works a lot better than trying to put the big pot into cold water.

Good luck!

I agree with you about Coda not being licensed as open source. I am an advocate of open source and constantly creating and exploring new solutions without a price tag, for more than 6 years. However I can't find anything as great as Coda. Smultron + Cyberduck is the only current solution I found as a plausible candidate.

In the end I am now using Coda for my paid services but will keep an eye open for anything else.

Hi. I've been trying to get PHP iCalendar to work on Windows XP machine. I followed your directions and downloaded PHP iCalendar zip to a calendar folder on my web site and unzipped the files. I left all the config settings on the default values. What do I do to I get a calendar to appear on my web page?

Thank you.

Hi, I saw this image of yours on Wikipedia (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0d/Ross.JPG/800px-Ross.JPG), and I was wondering if you could tell me the model/name of the bike. I had the exact same one in high school, and I'd love to be able to look it up again.

Thanks!
